A trip to a waterfall in the Blue Mountains ... but which waterfall?

Two of the most beautiful photographs of my paternal grandmother, Ellen Maria NORTHCOTE (nee Keneally),were taken of her with her mother and some friends in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney.

Ellen (known as Nell or Nellie) in her late life, was born in Sydney in 1893, so my family believes the photographs below were taken between 1910-1913 when Ellen was between 17-20 years of age. She looks older in the first photograph so perhaps this was taken about 1913 when she was 20 whereas she may have only been about 15-16 years of age in the second photo, about 1909-1910.

The main mystery about these photograph is ... where in the Blue Mountains were these photographs taken? From what I have always heard about these photographs, from my family, they were taken either at Katoomba, Wentworth Falls, Hazelbrook or Leura in the Blue Mountains.

On a recent trip to one of my favourite relatives recently in the Blue Mountains, we walked past this beautiful mural of a waterfall. The mural is located at Hazelbrook train station.

I also found this photograph of Bridal Veil Falls at Leura, taken in 1910 which looks quite similar to the place where my grandmother was photographed around 1909-1913.

Can you help me to identify where the two photographs of my grandmother were taken (see the sepia photographs above)? If you can, please email me at mariaseddon@gmail.com
